2017 saw an array of weird and wonderful trends from mermaids to pineapples and cactuses to metallics. So what does the year ahead hold in terms of trends?
Metallics, tropical prints and foliage are definitely still going strong into the new year. The choice of metallic finish has changed dramatically; from copper and rose gold to brass. Brass is the most sophisticated and organic of the metallic colour palette. But what does this mean for doors? Why don’t you add a luxurious metallic finish to your doors hardware, with brass?
As well as this, to create the perfect summer mood, why don’t you jazz up your glazing patterns with foliage and tropical prints, such as large leaves, wildlife and exotic birds. There are some brilliantly bold ones to choose from. Allow your personality to shine through and show off your door. You could even switch up the colour of your door with plenty of lush, energising greens, rich shades of green and charcoal and navy.
Geometrics are also a trend still going strong. They were all over pillows, cushions, art, rugs and accessories. Take advantage of this continuing trend by creating a bold and striking design on the glazing in your door. Small and intricate patterns create desired privacy. There’s an endless amount of possibility.
Go bold with rich pigments! If you’re feeling brave, then go for a slightly moodier choice, like navy and striking emerald green. They are all key colours for 2018. Or take inspiration from Pantone’s Colour of The Year 2018 – Ultra Violet! It is an enigmatic blue-based purple shade. Pantone claim it is set to take our imagination to new levels.
