Door Donation Raises £400 For Great Ormand Street Hospital

Essex Composite Doors attended a local ‘Oompah’ themed charity event last Saturday (9th March) where one of our stunning composite doors went under the hammer in aid of Great Ormand Street Hospital.

Organised by Rob Threadgold (pictured above) and his wife Carly, we were fully clothed in lederhosen and sunk one or two steins as we saw the two-panel, two-square composite door donated by ourselves go for £400. The money made from the door contributed to the incredible £6,400 collected for the children’s charity on the night.

The very generous winning bidder has been given the option of having their new door supplied in any of our eye-catching coloured finishes and it will be fully fitted by our installation team for FREE.

It was one of a number of impressive items to be auctioned or raffled off at St Peter’s School, South Weald, where there was also an Anthony Joshua boxing glove, wine tasting day, iPad and £200 Virgin Experience voucher up for grabs.

Attended by over 90 people, with music provided by a traditional oompah band, guests were also able to pick up a £50 off voucher for all composite doors created via our online door builder. All of the proceeds raised from this will also be going to Great Ormand Street Hospital.

It was a real pleasure and privilege to be involved in such a fabulously organised event for the very worthiest of causes. Huge credit must go to Rob and Carly for everything they did to make it so special and they should be very proud of raising such a large amount of money for a charity they hold so close to their heart.
